While the missiles were fired from U.S.-made launchers, it remains unclear whether the operation was conducted by American forces stationed in the Gulf or the Bahraini military. Iran has long warned that any Gulf nation allowing its soil to be used as a “launchpad” for U.S. attacks would face severe consequences.
Rising U.S. Fatalities Adding to the tension, a U.S. military refueling aircraft crashed in Iraq on Friday, resulting in further casualties. This brings the total number of U.S. service members killed in operations related to the conflict to 13. CENTCOM is currently investigating the crash, though initial reports suggest no direct enemy fire was involved in the downing of the aircraft.
