In a chilling display of political violence and the brutal suppression of truth, Janab Mafik, the father of CJP (Cockroach Janta Party) volunteer Shaik Abdul Hafeez, was brutally beaten to death in West Bengal’s Bankura district. The fatal assault occurred simply because his son dared to expose the crumbling reality of a local government school.

According to reports from The Indian Express and regional media, Hafeez visited a local primary school in the Karisunda area to assess and highlight poor educational infrastructure as part of the “School theek karo” initiative. Hours later, armed miscreants stormed into his home, demanding he record a forced apology video claiming his findings were done under “external influence.”

When Hafeez refused to bow down to this mafia-style intimidation, the attackers viciously assaulted him and his family with iron rods and crowbars. While Hafeez sustained severe injuries and managed to escape, his father, who bravely intervened to protect his son, suffered critical head trauma. Janab Mafik later succumbed to his injuries during treatment at Burdwan Medical College. Following intense public outrage, multiple arrests have been made by the local authorities, though the devastating loss remains a grim reminder of the deadly cost of demanding accountability.

The Anatomy of Systemic Brutality

  • Assassinating Truth-Tellers: Murdering a family member merely because a young activist highlighted a failing school system exposes the absolute rot within local political landscapes.
  • Intimidation Tactics: The demand for a forced apology video reveals a desperate, fascistic attempt by political thugs to control the narrative and hide administrative failures.
  • Justice Delayed: While arrests have been confirmed by The Hindu, the brutal killing of Janab Mafik serves as a terrifying warning to activists fighting for basic rights in the region.
